The application gives guests access to hundreds of international publications from their smartphone, laptop or tablet. The service is secured via the hotel’s IP address or password protected. Guests usually access it via keycard-sized information given to them on check-in. Using the hotel’s unique domain name, they can log in to the service and download newspapers and magazines.

Apex Hotels have reported high guest satisfaction from the Mediabox service, saying that, “It is not only environmentally-friendly which is very important to Apex Hotels as a brand, but also instantly available with unlimited downloads and completely complimentary to our guests as a service.”

Gold Key Media’s Mediabox is also available at The Dorchester and Andaz Liverpool Street and will soon be coming to the Maybourne Group, Cafe Royal and Ibis properties. This method of providing literature to hotel guests saves money for both the hotel and its guests, while lowering the clutter of physical publications and reducing the property’s carbon footprint.
